Our Story

I'm Bee — a USC film school grad who spent over a decade in the film and TV industry as a set decorator, sourcing and styling the worlds you see on screen. Bookbinding was a beloved hobby I'd return to between jobs. During the 2023 entertainment industry strikes, as work began to decline, I started thinking about a new path. I wanted a place in LA where I could buy specialty supplies, take classes, and use professional equipment — without cobbling together three different shops and a YouTube tutorial. That place didn't exist. So I'm building it. Bee's Books & Binds is that place — a 1,000 sq ft creative home in Los Angeles with a curated art supply shop, hands-on bookbinding classes, maker equipment you can rent by the hour, and most importantly an inclusive community space where screens can be turned off, and the love of books can be shared.
